Kannadasan – A Realized Master (Part 2)

Thanks to Ramesh Thiagarajan of TDRTimes e-zine, who started me off with this universal pursuit. Also, for his prodding with more ideas to continue. He said in WhatsApp today that I must include the complex concept of 'Quantum Entanglement'. Let me try. Google said about this as below:

Quantum Entanglement is a bizarre phenomenon in physics in which the state of a particle instantaneously and inextricably influences the state of another particle located at a great distance.

Its key features include:

Interconnection: Once two particles (Particles A and B) become entangled, they continue to behave as a single entity, regardless of the distance separating them—even if they are located at opposite ends of the universe.

Instantaneous Effect: If the state of Particle A is altered, the state of Particle B changes instantaneously.

To simplify it for understanding with a practical current example, JS (Jeyes) son Station Master Jayaraman of Tiruvidaimarudur writes something from Chennai on Kannadasan and Quantum Physics. Lo and behold, his mirror like SJ (YesJay?) "Sundar(resan), (who is NOT all known to the writer), son of Writer Jayaraman, from the other part of the world (United States) instantaneously shares his understanding on the same!

Zoom out to the Universal Scale, Quantum Entanglement states that ANYWHERE there is another particle that responds (in States, pun intended). Thanks to Sundar who has also brought in Thirumoolar, another grate Tamil Sage of yesteryears. Now that I have also pitched in Bharathiyaar, Ramana Maharishi, we all can pool in other masters' wisdom which are relatable to subject being discussed. Why limit it to Kannadasan only? But we will keep his wise lyrics as the basis to proceed further.

Next Song.. Did the breeze arrive only when the vine swayed?

“Kodi Asainthathum Kaatru Vanthathaa..?”

In this song—familiar and beloved to everyone—the following lines relate to quantum mechanics and Indian spirituality:

“Did the vision appear the moment the eyes opened?

Or did the eyes open the moment the vision appeared?”

Earlier, I had mentioned about the famous double-slit experiment. Its result is that the seer affects the seen. Our Indian Spirituality says it differently as we create what we see. “We don’t see, but we see what ‘we want to see’”. Just recall, where was the world/universe during your last night sleep? But how did it ALL come up the moment you wake up? The vital question sages usually ask us to explore is, are you in this world or do you create the world (of your own) every time you wake up? This points to the fact that 'we' live in the universes created by us and our individual Worlds are without border shared/interconnected with each being we encounter.

Now, we will come to Kannandasan's song. How beautifully he links romance and spirituality in this 'chicken and egg' series of questions which prompt you to think deeply on fundamental human illusions. (The conundrum of which came first, chicken or egg?). After all, after love only comes wisdom.

Let us now see Mahakavi Bharatiyar's series of questions on this illusion of human sight in ‘Nirpathuvey Nadappathuvey Parappathuvey’ song:

“Standing still, walking forth, taking flight—

Are you all merely dreams?

Or are you but a series of illusory appearances?

Learning, listening, contemplating—

Are you all but trivial illusions?

Is there no profound essence dwelling within you?

The vast sky, the gentle sunlight, the swaying trees—

Are you all but water in a mirage?

Merely an optical illusion?

Since all that has passed—

Having shattered and risen again—has vanished like a dream,

Am I, too, but a dream?

Is this entire world, then, a falsehood?

The concept of ‘Time,’

And the myriad impressions of ‘Sight’—

Are these forms merely false?

Are the very attributes of existence false as well?

If all that is seen is destined to fade away,

Then surely, all that has faded shall be seen again?

Am I, too, but a dream?

Is this entire world, then, a falsehood?”

If readers are enjoying this, let us move from Quantum Science to other human mind & relationship predicaments exposed by Kaviyarasar and others in the coming episodes. Don't smirk. Some of the club dance songs sung by L R Easwari contain philosophical bombs! Let us dig deeper..

As s/he said "Let us go... as far as the journey takes us...

Let us view it with a fresh sense of wonder.

Step in—let us lose ourselves and swim;

For it is here, after all, that the true depths are found!"
